Awana will not run this coming Friday, April 6. The next one will take place as per the usual schedule on April 20 at 7:30 pm.

Summer Day Camp 2012 二零一二暑期日營

We would like to invite you to our free annual Summer Day Camp. This year, we will learn some of the most important promises God has made to us. Children will be actively engaged as they participate in Bible stories, make fun crafts, and get their daily dose of physical activity.

When?
Aug 07 – 11 (with a BBQ Event on Aug 12)
9:30am – 2:00pm

For whom?
Children entering Kindergarten – Grade 6 in September 2012

Registration is required by June 02. Register early because space is limited! You can register online, but for returning children, just send hannalee [at] oakridgebaptistchurch [dot] ca an email to reserve your child’s spot.

Things to bring:

我們謹此邀請你參加信望愛堂一年一度的暑期日營，費用全免。今年我們要來認識神給我們的最重要的應許當中的一些。為參加日營的兒童準備的是活潑有趣的聖經故事、巧手工以及每日必修的體育活動。

Baptism Class 浸禮班

Everyone who would like to learn about believer’s baptism, or is interested in being baptised is invited to attend an information class on Saturday, February 4. The class will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the church library, and will last 1-2 hours. Refreshments will be provided. Please note that believer’s baptism is a prerequisite for church membership.

任何一位想了解有關信徒浸禮,或者有意受浸者都應邀出席將於二月四日 (星期六) 舉行的資訊班。資訊班上午十時在圖書館開班,為時一至兩個小時, 有茶點提供。請留意信而受浸是成為教會會友的前提。

Please join us for a combined English and Chinese service beginning at 10:30. It includes a presentation from the children’s ministry and is followed by a church-wide luncheon.

請來參加我們於上午十時三十分開始的中英文堂聯合崇拜。其中有主日學兒童表演，崇拜後有全教會的聖誕午餐。

New Sunday School Format

Beginning today, Sunday school has moved into a new year and we’re making some changes! Many students have graduated to the next age group and we’re expanding our scope.

9:30 Service

Grades K-6

11:30 Service

Preschool and Kindergarten
Grades 1-3
Grades 4-6
Grades 7-10
Grade 11 to Young Adult

All the children grade 6 and below start together to sing songs and pray to start off the class, then they separate into their age groups. All the students grade 7 and above do the same.

Grad Banquet: Sept 17 @ 1pm

We celebrate those who are graduating to and from the youth group with our annual grad banquet. All students who are heading into Grade 7 this year, or who graduated from Grade 12 in June will be honored in this special evening. All youth who are not graduating should arrive at the church at 1pm to help with preparations. At 6pm, we will all enjoy a family-style meal together, and acknowledge the great achievements of our graduating students. Cost is $5 for non-graduating youth; and free for our honorees.

Parents’ Meeting for Students Entering Grades 6, 7, 8

Sunday, July 3 at 1:00pm, the Sunday school teachers and youth leaders will be holding an information meeting for parents of children entering grade 6, 7, and 8 in September. We will be talking about the youth retreat and youth events, which new grade 7s (and up) are invited to, and some temporary changes to the age groupings of Sunday school that will be in effect over the Summer.

Awana BBQ and Awards Night

This Friday is the last Awana night for the year. It will start with a BBQ 5:30 to 6:30, followed by the year-end awards ceremony running 7:00 to 8:00, and will finish with a final prize table time. The whole event will be done by 9:00 at the latest.

Notably, the Mandarin Bible study group will have a special guest speaker beginning at 8:00 right after the awards ceremony.
