WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is God's own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit.  All Scripture is God-breathed, infallible and authoritative in all matters upon which it touches.  It is the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT GOD

We believe in one, and only one, true and living God who exists eternally in Three co-equal persons.  These persons have distinct personal attributes and distinct functions, yet they are without division in nature, essence and being.  These persons are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and together they constitute the Godhead, or the Trinity.

God the Father is all-powerful, all-loving, and all-wise.  He rules over all life and history, and He initiated salvation by sending His Son to His creation.

God the Son is Jesus Christ, the Messiah.  He is true God and true man.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, died upon the cross, the righteous for the unrighteous, and rose from the dead to provide salvation for mankind.

God the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts individuals of their sinfulness and of the righteousness of Christ.  He draws them to the Savior, effects their regeneration, lives in them, and bestows spiritual gifts upon them for the rendering of effective service to God and the Church.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT MAN AND WOMAN

We believe that man and woman were created by a direct and special act of God, and they were created in the image of God, thus they possess dignity and value.  We believe that they were originally created holy, and righteous, but they sinned against God, and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death.  All people since have been born separated from God by a sinful nature, and are in need of reconciliation with God through the saving work of Christ.  We believe that men and women can be reconciled to God by repenting of sin and accepting Christ and His saving work.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe the Church, universal in nature, is the body of which Christ is the head, and all who believe in Him are members.  We believe the local church is a body of believers in Christ, who have joined together for the worship of God, edification through the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT BAPTISM

We believe baptism of believers is to be administered by full immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  It is an act of obedience, symbolizing the believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE LORD'S SUPPER

We believe the Lord's Supper is the partaking of the bread and the cup by believers, as a continuing memorial of the given body and shed blood of Christ.  It is an act of thankful worship, proclaiming what Christ accomplished through his death on our behalf, and it is an act of joyful celebration over the promise of Christ's second coming.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT CHRIST'S RETURN

We believe God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end and establish a new heaven and a new earth.  We believe the certain hope of all believers is Christ's second coming
